The return of film photography
In 2021, disposable film cameras are making a big comeback. For their vintage charm, their no-filter aspect, their unique way of capturing the moment without overthinking it. Why this craze?
- A practical object, easy to take anywhere. A unique rendering with vintage-grain photos. The pleasure of the moment, without a screen And above all, the pleasure of capturing the moment without being able to see it immediately, and thus discovering your shots during development.
But these devices have their limitations: they are costly, require additional equipment (film, development), and have a significant environmental impact.
Birth
From student project to entrepreneurial reality
It all started with a school project and a pitch among friends. One year later, we reached the final of an entrepreneurial competition together. At the end of 2022, we all embarked on different professional adventures, putting peeksme aside... until 2024.
That idea has been on my mind ever since. I've decided to revive the project, and after months of research, I've finally found a partner to produce the camera.
Takeoff
Ulule campaign: objective to build a community and finance the first production
The initial goal was to sell 300 cameras, and this was achieved in less than 24 hours. In 3 weeks, we sold 500 Peeksme cameras, which allowed us to definitively validate our product.
